What is it about?

A “Big Day Out 2010" is a special event aimed to bring cheer and fun to the poor and needy in the community. Many of them will look forward to such an occasion where they can enjoy the day with their families.

The fair is open to the poor of the parish as well as the beneficiaries from our Catholic charities and organisations. These participants will come to the fair at no cost. Each participant will be given free coupons to the food and fun stalls through their respective organisations.

This is not a fundraising event. The organising committee hopes to draw the support of the broader Catholic community to help in this food and fair. It is encouraging Catholics to gather together to help set up either a food or game stall or to offer their creative talents to zest up the atmosphere and add to the vibrancy of the fair. The committee also welcomes donations in kind, prizes and gifts for this event.

Who are invited to the event?

Over 2,500 beneficiaries served by the parish groups and Catholic charities can look forward to such a day out with their family, to enjoy a day of food and games with many prizes. The participants will include families in need, children and youths from the homes, migrant workers and the lonely elderly.
