 Advent 2007 Charity Projects at ParishesCHURCH OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL – FAMILY FOR LIFE A family is a life-long commitment. The Church of SVDP has adopted the theme of “Families” for this Advent and will be supporting the work of Family Life Society (FLS) with our time, money and prayers. Over the weekend of 8 & 9 December, FLS will set up a booth for parishioners before and after each Mass. This will promote awareness of the programmes run by FLS and offer opportunities for volunteer sign-ups. In addition, donation envelopes for FLS will be given to parishioners after communion. These can be collected in the following week or mailed back to the parish. |

| About FLS FLS was formed in 1983 under the auspices of the Archbishop. Known then as the Family Life Bureau, it was registered two years later under the Societies Act. It is also a registered charity and has Institution of Public Character status (IPC). The aim of FLS is to promote a deep understanding and reverence for marriage, family and human life. It does this through a variety of programmes and activities that is available to all, regardless of race and religion. FLS core team offers counselling and care services as well as educational programmes and resources to schools, families and individuals. It has organized night counseling at at ten parishes as well as at CANA. It has a number of affliated programmes that covers the full spectrum of the family life cycle: Choice, Catholic Engaged Encounter, Marriage Preparation Course, Natural Family Planning, Couples for Christ, Retrouvaille, Beginning Experience and the Couple Empowerment Programme. Donations If you wish to donate to FLS, please send a crossed cheque, payable to "Catholic Social and Community Council" and write “For benefit of Family Life Society” at the back of the cheque.
