The community of German Catholics in Singapore meets regularly for worship at Maris Stella Chapel. The community is about 150-250 members strong. Mission/Vision Statement: We wish to strengthen our participants' spiritual lives and make the faith of our church accessible to all interested persons. We try to facilitate social encounters, grow a sense of community and strengthen solidarity with each other – in the spirit of our Patron Saint, St. Elisabeth of Thuringia. We strive to enhance our cultural heritage in order to contribute to the development of a strong sense of identity in each individual. In our opinion a sense of personal identity is an important prerequisite for tolerance and respect with regard to all other cultures and religions which we have the chance to encounter here in Singapore . |
