What is the festival about?
20 ten-minute plays based on our Christian faith will be staged for the whole festival and there will be ten 10-min plays performed at each show on both Sat and Sun.
We have invited parishes in the diocese, Catholic schools and Catholic societies in the universities to put up a ten-minute play or musical based on John 10:10 since April this year and many fellow Catholics have responded to this call.
Net proceeds from the ticket sales for this festival will benefit Caritas Singapore, our selected charity for the event. Caritas Singapore and its Catholic charities and organisations reach out to over 50,000 persons in need across all races, languages and religions. This event is also supported by CAYC ( Catholic Archdiocesan Youth Centre).
About Walk on Water Productions
Walk on Water Productions is a non-profit young adult Catholic theatre ensemble dedicated to evangelising the Word of God through the Art of Theatre with Rev Father Terence Pereira as the group's Spiritual Director. Taking root in the Bible and the traditions of our Church, Walk on Water Productions tells and retells the story of salvation for our audience. We hope to bring the message of peace and love through stories heard and unheard, seen and unseen, always striving for something to be funded by love-offerings.
Just last year, we performed at two Youth District Rallies and toured "Postcard from Paul" to 11 parishes in the Year of Saint Paul. In addition, we have also conducted Children's and Youth's Bible Camps and retelling stories of the Bible through customised drama programmes for various Catholic societies.
