What is it about?
This inaugural Conference is organized by CSCC. The theme, “Social Realities, Catholic Response” aims to heighten awareness amongst participants of the social teachings of the Catholic Church and its relevance to society today. This Conference will also provide participants with the opportunity to share social mission experiences and to network.

Archbishop Nicholas Chia will be providing the keynote address at the conference. Admiral Kwek Siew Jin, President of NCSS and Mrs Tan Chee Koon, CEO of NVPC will provide the national perspective on social issues facing Singapore today, such as the impact of demographics on social service, survey findings and the challenges facing charity organisations. Msgr Eugene Vaz, Br Colin Wee, Gerard Ee, Michael Thio, and Dr John Hui are some of the other names on our list of 19 speakers & panelists. They will review and discuss the issues from a Catholic perspective and show how we have, and can, respond to these social realities.

Participants will find the Conference informative and be inspired to live out the social mission of the Church. When we become a more service-oriented people in the community we serve, we can make a greater difference in society and also collectively as a Church.

Who should attend?
The Conference is opened to Catholics who are interested in, or who are already involved in social service work, and these would include members from the ministry groups in the parish.
