Lee Foundation

In 2008, Caritas Singapore received a cheque of $200,000 from the Lee Foundation for its Capacity Building Fund.

The Lee Foundation was founded by the philanthropist and successful businessman, the late Lee Kong Chian in 1952. The foundation bears the mark of Lee Kong Chian's progressive outlook on charity. When he passed away in 1967, he left half of his fortune to the Lee Foundation so that his family can continue his philanthropic work.

Many have benefited from the generosity of the Lee Foundation. Between 1952 and 1993, it donated sums amounting to $300 million to various causes, regardless of race, language, religion, nationality or geographical location.
