This Advent, the Singapore Pastoral Institute has produced
a reflection booklet entitled "Living for Others". I encourage
you to use the booklet for reflection, sharing and praying together with your family, Small Christian Community or Neighbourhood Group.
The title of the reflection booklet is very apt.
Advent means "coming", the coming of our Lord. And as we celebrate His coming, we are reminded of what our Lord has asked us to do for others: to help the poor, the disadvantaged and those marginalised in our society, and to work towards
the creation of a new social order where there is justice, brotherhood, solidarity and sharing.
The Church has established the Catholic Social & Community Council (CSCC) to coordinate and help all Catholic
organisations and groups doing work for the poor and the community.
Please pray for the work of the CSCC and its member organisations, and give generously so that we can better
help those in need. This Advent let us share what we have
with the less fortunate. Let us start living for others.
May God Bless You.
