| In 2002, Jonathan and his brother began serving in their parish in response to their mother's encouragement to make a contribution to the Church as she felt this would provide a firm foundation for the development of their faith. He joined the choir and catechetical ministries.
“I did not feel any purpose in my service in Church even after 3 years,” Jonathan pointed out. “It just became a habit. And even if I had a reason, it wasn't for the purpose of serving God.”
In December 2005, Jonathan went for a retreat which proved to be the turning point in his life. He had a conversion experience which led him determined to place God at the centre of his life.
“After much prayer, I moved to the Youth Ministry where I felt the calling to serve in. I feel my faith has grown and realized that God calls us to serve for different purposes and in different ways,” said Jonathan. “Ever since that experience at the retreat, I feel more spirit-driven to serve God and His people to the best of my abilities.”
